The Intersections of Faith, Sexuality Education, and Your Congregation (August 27, 2014)
Many of us assume sexuality education happens one weekend a year for middle school kids. Have you ever thought about the passing of the peace as a sexuality education moment? What about talking about permission and bodily integrity with 1st graders who hug or hit too much in Sunday School? On Wednesday, August 27th at 3:00pm ET, please join the Healthy Families, Healthy Planet project and the General Board of Church & Society for a webinar where we will explore the connections between our faith values and sexuality related to educational initiatives, practices of ministry, and witnessing on justice issues. Our featured speakers will be Dr. Kate Ott, Assistant Professor of Christian Ethics at Drew Theological School, and Teresita Matos-Post, pastor of Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church in Warren, New Jersey.
